       The exhaust system refers to a process that discharges combustion exhaust gas from the exhaust port connected to the combustion chamber, first through the exhaust three-way catalytic converter, then to the middle section of the exhaust pipe, and finally to the tail section of the exhaust pipe. It has two main functions. The first is to guide the high-temperature exhaust gas after fuel combustion to the rear of the car for discharge. The second is to use the muffler tail drum to reduce the noise of the exhaust system to an acceptable range.

      Exhaust system modifications are divided into primary modifications and advanced modifications. Generally, the modification of the exhaust pipe only involves the rear section, that is, it only needs to increase the diameter of the rear exhaust pipe to increase the airflow per unit area, so that the exhaust gas can be discharged in a timely manner. Basic modification only requires disassembling or sawing off the tail section of the exhaust pipe, and then welding the thickened pipe.

      Advanced modifications to the exhaust system involve the three-way catalytic converters in the middle section and the first section. From the part where the banana head of the exhaust pipe is linked to the engine, a section of exhaust pipe is added to reduce the exhaust gas pressure, because the high-temperature exhaust gas inside the engine enters the exhaust. When the exhaust manifold is closed, the pressure is still very high, and the frequency of shock waves generated by contact with the exhaust manifold wall can reach thousands of times per minute. Installing a section of exhaust pipe in the middle of the exhaust pipe can reduce the pressure of exhaust gas emissions, which is better to reduce noise.

    The exhaust gas branched out from the upper two parts is processed and purified by the three-way catalytic converter, and then enters the tail section and is discharged into the air.

     Advanced modification requires dismantling the original exhaust three-way catalytic converter and replacing it with a new catalytic converter.     Some modification friends want to save trouble and directly change to direct exhaust. On the one hand, it is very noisy. It is large, and the vibration is more obvious when driving. On the other hand, untreated exhaust gas will cause serious pollution. This is a misunderstanding when modifying the exhaust gas.
